The Abyss In The Modern World
This is the abyss between people who take different positions on issues, where one or both refuse to see that there is anything other than black and white, and that the other person is wrong, bad, irredeemable.
Identity politics is the scourge of society. It is the politics of casting a person with a different viewpoint into the abyss, saying that there is no room for conversation because that person is X or Y or Z. More than that, it says that such a person is irredeemable.
To teach, one has to be prepared to learn.
